Chen Huang and Ian Liu — Co-Founders of HYLO

Chen Huang

Co-Founder

Chen holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Illinois Chicago. He has built his practice across Chicago firms — including Goettsch Partners and DXU Architects — developing deep expertise in commercial and cultural projects where material precision and tectonic clarity define the work. Chen has a particular interest in 3D scanning and documentation, and has been actively bridging construction administration with emerging technology and digital workflows.

Ian Liu

Co-Founder, AIA

Ian holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University at Buffalo. Originally from Taiwan, he has built his career across firms including Goettsch Partners, EXP, and Woolpert — developing deep experience in commercial, civic, and multi-disciplinary projects where technical rigor and considered design define the work. Ian has a strong interest in parametric design, computational workflows, web development, and photography, bringing a cross-disciplinary lens to every project.
